Abstract

Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) represent a significant development in entrepreneurial finance, marking a shift towards decentralised and blockchain-enabled funding mechanisms. This thesis investigates into the multidimensional nature of ICOs by examining public discourse, sentiment, outsourcing strategies and post-ICO performance metrics. Through an extensive collection and analysis of X (formerly known as Twitter) data, alongside synthesis of current literature, this research presents a nuanced understanding of the dynamics influencing ICO outcomes, offering a comprehensive analysis of their impact on investor behaviour and long-term venture success.
