White, Nick [Designer] (2020) Who likes Drawing? (Worksheet). A4. PDF.
Abstract
I was commissioned by Freelands Foundation to create a resource for Primary school children that can be utilised in class but also used at home. The resource was to be shared across the school from Reception to Year 6. As this was during lockdown most children were working from home but also children attending in-person teaching. The requirements were that the resource could be printed double-sided black and white onto A4 paper. Other considerations included - * The activity should be scalable depending on age... Or if it was something that only really works for the older kids we will only share it with Y3-6 for example. * The resource should be more open-ended and open to interpretation. Rather than a 'How to draw/make....' worksheet already available. * The resource should be mindful that for lots of children who will get this resource, they don’t have much at home for making. So should be designed with readily accessible materials in mind. Or even things that everyone can access (at the park, what you can see by looking out of the window etc). For this 2-sided (4 pages when folded) worksheet I wanted children to explore Drawing and ask Do you like to draw? Why do we draw? How do we draw? What can we draw? Through a series of activities and ideas, they could consider and work through.
