Brummer, L [Composer] (1997) Lizard Point. (Audio for video).
Item Type: | Composition |
---|---|
Additional Information: | Lizard Point uses sounds entirely generated from physical models created with the Genesis software from ACROE, Grenoble. The acoustic models are also used in animated form to provide a visual dimension. The work also has choreographic elements, so that movement itself can create sound, computer-animations or movements of humans. The compositional process took place simultaneously and interactively with the development of the video. Lizard Point was commissioned by the International Computer Music Association. It was broadcast (15.10.1999, 0.35 am) around Europe on the SWR TV(German), DSR TV(Swiss) and BBC Radio 3, and several other radio stations worldwide. It has also been performed at CARTAH (University of Washington), ORF Sendesaal (Vienna), ICMF98 (Kobe), Medien Kunst Woche (Kyoto), Singapore, Klangforschung (Munich), Cyber98 (Lisbon - 3 weeks nonstop), Museum Ludwig (Cologne), and in Berlin, Glasgow, Copenhagen, ZKM Karlsruhe, and several cities in South America. |
