Phrenos is a 4-channel soundfile. Published on CD by GMEB/UNESCO/CIME in 1997 (LDC278063/64). Phrenos was played in the Salle Olivier Messiaen, INA (Paris), at the Festivals Elektrokomplex (Vienna) Inventionen (Berlin), ICMF98 (Kobe), Klangforschung98 (Munich), Rien a voir98 (Montreal), Synthese98 (Bourges,) Computer Music - World Music Days (Manchester), Electronic Music Festival (Stockholm), Zentrum fur Kunst und Media (ZKM Karlsruhe), Boehmische Musikfest (Dresden), and the Interactive Electronic Music Workshop (Dartington). It has been performed on special-purpose diffusion rigs such as the GRM Acousmonium and the Cybernephone of Bourges. The software for this piece was written entirely by the composer himself using the CM/CLM languages.
