Abstract
The embedding of live briefs within the curriculum has necessitated a re-evaluation of the ‘liveness’ of project briefs both in terms of student progression and achievement and the enhancement of employability skills. With an increasing focus on graduate outcomes and preparing students for sustainable careers within professional practice, how can we ensure that are providing meaningful learning opportunities, particularly in the context of diversity and inclusion? This paper examines the significance of the embedding of service learning in the curriculum as an approach to providing ‘real world’ learning through civic engagement with local communities. It explores how experiences and insights gained from participation in social action cross-curricular creative projects can enhance the development of innovative practices that enable students to identify and create entrepreneurial opportunities.
