Abstract
This discusses the importance of this concept within creativity research. A distinction is made between studies of group creativity that still take the individual and individual processes as the main unit of analysis, and collaborative creativity, defined by its focus on interaction and communication. The methodologies used to examine collaborative creativity are briefly reviewed, and then explicit forms of collaboration are discussed and illustrated—in the lab, in pairs, in artistic and scientific group. Implicit forms discussed include culture, audiences, and objects. The entry concludes with a few reflections on the role of collaboration in every creative act.
