Sopeoglou, Eva (2016) The tectonics of comfort between clothes and cities. In: Bartlett PhD Research Projects 2016; 23 Feb 2016, London, U.K..
Abstract
The research presents an enquiry into the question of the envelope enclosure and the need to provide comfort to the human body, a fundamental function of architecture. The paper considers thermal comfort from the perspective of socio-cultural conventions, arms and assumptions. It also offers an alternative approach via a built project which considers a careful placing in nature, and consideration for the site, orientation and climate.
