It was sponsored by The Arts Council's 'Animate' scheme for experimental animation. Shown as part of Channel 4 'Animate' season June 1998. Jury selected for Rotterdam Film festival Holland, January 1999; Animundi, Brazil, June 1999; Lux short Film Festival, London, August 1999; BBC short Film Festival, December 1999. Hiroshima Festival Japan, August 2000. An 8-minute film combining projections of animation in a live action setting. Hand scratched, painted film and drawing on film and paper. The theme is "The Information Age" and its implications for the individual. This project involved mixing media in such a way as to stretch animation beyond conventional character design and movement. Stylized scenes were devised to be integrated with and around animated pieces extending the imaginative use of animation beyond the traditional. |
