Abstract
Literature reports that first year first placement students experience stress, anxiety and vulnerability. In response a jointly facilitated workshop between University and practice was devised. The indications from this initiative showed increased confidence levels. Understanding the pedagogical component has been deemed a pivotal part of students learning within the clinical environment. In order to deconstruct aspects of learning within the session, the authors, used an educational tool to reflect on relevance of an intervention aimed at increasing students confidence within the clinical learning environment. Blooms Taxonomy was considered to examine the process of moving the students from lower to higher levels of affective and cognitive learning.
