Abstract

Herstoriographies: The Feminist Print Matters explores the relationship between past and present, seeking to disrupt chronological narratives whilst remaining sensitive to historical and political contexts, and thinking equally about how to reignite and reimagine contemporary feminist projects via the archive. Herstoriographies: The Feminist Print Matters focuses on Fatehrad’s ongoing research related to the role of print matters in early feminist history that shaped and echoed the feminist movement in the Middle East. That includes the Sediqeh Dowlatabadi archive (IISH, Netherlands) and Zaban-e Zanan magazine. The presentation is part of The Feminist Media Archive Research Network (2017- present) which was set up in collaboration with Dr Ros Murray to bring together researchers working in feminist media archives. Our research interests: collectivity; feminist historiography; feminism in relation to other political movements; queer feminisms; postcolonial feminism; feminist embodiment and affect. Our aim is to provide support and build a community around feminist archival research.
