Abstract

In 2021 I collaborated with the House of Illustration and East London Comics and Art Festival (ELCAF) on producing a resource for Primary school teachers to help facilitate creative projects in class. Creative Prompt Cards are cards that can be printed out and then illustrated using simple art materials found in the classroom and at home. The idea is that each child would have a set of cards to generate ideas or questions in response to the prompt on the card. They would then either be given or could choose a type of project to develop using one of the ideas they had generated. I designed the cards and the instructions for teachers and families to use in the form of PowerPoint presentations and videos to guide the children through the process but also to introduce myself as an Illustrator / Artist and Educator. Though originally conceived to help support primary school teachers the project was opened up to help parents and carers to conceive of creative projects to do at home during lockdowns etc. You can download the resources on the House of Illustration website and the ELCAF website.
