Diagrammatic Architecture

Gough, Tim (2012) Diagrammatic Architecture. le Journal Spéciale'Z(4), pp. 8-23.

This essay outlines a theory of the diagram in Deleuze's philosophy, showing how it derives from Foucault's notion of power. Foucault's analysis starts from architecture (the prison, the military camp), and it is shown how Deleuze turns Foucault's notion into a positive (rather than simply oppressive) possibility for thought and existance. The relevance of this for the theory of architecture is outlined.
