Inventory of behaviours: readiness, regulation, resistance

Addison, Jo [Artist] and Kidd, Natasha [Artist] (2019) Inventory of behaviours: readiness, regulation, resistance.

Abstract

During 4 days, June 18-21 Addison and Kidd returned to Tate Exchange with Inventory of Behaviours, a research project designed to give a platform to and understand the relevance of artist's behaviours for learning. They resumed their distinct method of participatory enactment to investigate 3 categories of behaviours that have emerged as common themes, since the Inventory of Behaviours began in 2017, Regulation, Resistance and Readiness. Grouped and identified according to these themes, the instructions were enacted by self selected art students representing foundation level study through to PhD alongside members of the public. Experts from scientific, educational and creative disciplines were invited to observe the three sets of behaviours as they were performed by others and each afternoon throughout the week, in a series of public seminars, these specialists shared their observations around one of the categories and prepared a specific contribution in relation to their discipline.
